Copy-cat Cher strikes again: X Factor finalist Miss Lloyd steps out with bright red hair

By Daily Mail Reporter

Look familiar? Cher Lloyd stepped out today with newly dyed bright red hair

When she sprang onto the scene at the X Factor auditions last year, Cheryl Cole immediately heralded her as a breath of fresh air.

But critics were quick to note that rather than having a unique style, teenager Cher Lloyd was fast becoming a mini-me Cheryl, with their similarities only increasing as the competition went on.

And now Cher has followed in her former mentor's footsteps once again, by dying her dark hair shocking red.

Yesterday the 17-year-old was spotted leaving rehearsals for the X Factor Tour sporting a newly dyed bouffant.

While Cheryl tried out a more subtle style when she debuted her red tresses in November, Miss Lloyd is not one to go for an understated look.

Her shocking red hue is closer in shade to Rihanna, who was the first to try out the fiery trend last year, before Cheryl followed suit.

Miss Lloyd is often spotted stepping out in clothes similar to her mentor's style, and even borrowed designer shoes and clothing from the Girls Aloud star to wear during the live shows last year.

The Worcestershire teen uploaded a picture of her new 'do to Twitter last night from inside rehearsals.

Still showing the tell-tale stain of the dye around her hairline, Cher posed in mock-shock as she showed off her new look for her 232,000 followers.

Cher added a black flower headpiece to her hair and had a typical full face of make-up as she left the studio.

Miss Lloyd wore a pair of black track pants, boots a print T-shirt and and a white hoodie jumper.

The outfit is clearly a favourite of the young singer, who was spotted in the same gear head-to-toe when she flew into Heathrow last week.

After a long day of rehearsals the X Factor ladies - Katie Waissel, Mary Byrne, Rebecca Ferguson and Cher - headed for a night out.

Katie wrote on her Twitter page: 'Tonight us girls are going to show the boys how to really rock out ;) @RebeccaFMusic @CherLloyd @MaryByrneMusic x'

Cher would have plenty to catch up on with her fellow finalists after spending the past few weeks in Los Angeles recording her debut album.

Amazon is already taking pre-orders on the as yet untitled album, which will be released in August under X Factor supremo Simon Cowell's record label Syco.

Among the music producers working on Lloyd's album are producer Ronald 'Jukebox' Jackson - who created Willow Smith's hit Whip My Hair and has worked with John Legend and Janet Jackson - and Red One, who has worked the likes of Lady GaGa and Nicole Scherzinger.

She also worked with The Runners, who have helped produce tracks for Rihanna, Usher and Justin Bieber.

Cher spoke about working with the hip-hop producers in a recent YouTube video diary.

'We did two tracks and I'm very proud of them and I cannot wait for everybody to hear them,' she said.

'I literally live in the studio nowadays so it's really good to be able to make the tracks I want to make. I can't wait for the album to come out and for everyone to hear it.'

Mini-me: Cher, left, has made no secret of the fact she's inspired by the style of Cheryl Cole, right

For now, Cher is contracted to appear on the X Factor tour alongside her fellow finalists including winner Matt Cardle, One Direction, Katie Waissell, Mary Byrne, Rebecca Ferguson, Aiden Grimshaw, Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho and Paije Richardson.

She tweeted yesterday: 'Back from LA, really jet lagged. I’m in tour rehearsals havin a crackin time. This is the best part – rockin out with a live band!'

The X Factor tour kicks off February 19 at Birmingham's LG Arena, before ending in Cardiff's CIA on April 10.
