Ethical fashion: Emma models her third and final collection for fairtrade label People Tree, which hits stores on February 28 to coincide with Fairtrade Fortnight

Style icon Emma Watson has continued to take a stand for ethical fashion by slipping on some fairtrade denim hotpants to launch her third and final collection with People Tree.

The Harry Potter actress has been vocal about her stance on fairtrade clothing for years, which she exhibits by modelling her latest spring/summer collection for the brand.

The 20-year-old not only models and designs for the company, but she also travelled to Bangladesh to see the collection being made by the locals.

Emma said: ‘The design process continued with me trying on each and every piece to get the fits just as I wanted them, and then I visited Bangladesh to see the clothing actually being made and meet the people making it.

‘It was an incredible and life-changing experience. I wish everyone had the chance to see the difference Fairtrade makes.’

Watson’s full spring/summer collaboration with People Tree is being launched to coincide with Fairtrade Fortnight, which starts February 28.

In the photoshoot Emma teamed up her ethical Daisy Dukes with a beige cotton waistcoat and scarf as she posed in a summer field.

The collection also boasts her long-sleeved mini-dress, which she showed off next to an old fashioned motorbike.

And Emma also showed off her dresses for the brand, with the range that includes fabrics printed with checks, polka dots and floral designs.

She designed the collection last year while attending university and said: ‘People Tree’s founder, and Misato, People Tree’s designer, came out to work with me in Rhode Island.

‘Together we decided on all the colours, fabrics, shapes and craft skills. Most of all, we took care to design a really wearable collection that truly celebrates the traditional skills of People Tree’s Fairtrade groups around the world.’

Fairtrade Fortnight runs from February 28 to March 13 and was created by the Fairtrade Foundation to invite designers to produce scarves using fairtrade cotton.

Designers who have joined the Collective include Marios Schwab and Hussein Chalayan for Puma, Julie Verhoeven, Tim Soar, David David and Ada Zanditon.

Punk inspired: Emma said she wanted to make the collection very 'wearable' as well as being ethically friendly, so designed a range of dresses while attending university
