X Factor 2010: Paije Richardson's early bid for fame in Stars In Their Eyes

By Daily Mail Reporter

Baby faced: A 16-year-old Paije Richardson performs as Jackie Wilson on Stars In Their Eyes four year ago

He won over X Factor viewers with his soulful voice and friendly face before being voted off the show on Sunday.

But it appears Paije Richardson made a first bid for singing stardom in Stars In Their Eyes: Kids when he was just 15.

The North Londoner, who turned 20 last week, dressed up as Fifties/Sixties singer Jackie Wilson for the now defunct ITV show in February 2006.

The cute teenager wore a sparkly blue suit and wig as he belted out an rhythm and blues numner.

Unfortunately, Paije didn't win the competition - which was then hosted by Cat Deeley - with a Christina Aguilera doppelganger Sarah-Jane Davies clinching the title.

Paije isn't the only X Factor contestant to appear on the show - JLS singer Aston Merrygold appeared as Michael Jackson several years ago.

Stars In Their Eyes wasn't Paije's only bid for fame - he has been an extra in several Harry Potter films.

Rocking out: Paije received a good response from viewers, but missed out on winning that week's episode

Actor Daniel Radcliffe admitted two weeks ago he recognised Paije when he first saw his audition for The X Factor a few months ago and the Harry Potter cast were very supportive of him.

Dannii Minogue's protogee Paije left The X Factor on Sunday after Louis Walsh made the deciding vote to save Cher Lloyd after the sing-off.

Obviously thrilled to be remaining on the show, Cher praised Paije and said he shouldn't have been in the bottom two.

She told Konnie Huq on The Xtra Factor: 'I'm a bit speechless. I just want to say sorry because I really got to know Paije and I really like him as a friend. I don't think he should have gone. I'm a bit annoyed. Look what happened with Aiden (Grimshaw).'

Speaking on Daybreak yesterday, the former cinema usher admitted he felt sorry for Wagner because of the negative reception he is getting from other finalists and the booing audience at the live shows.

Hopeful: Paije, pictured leaving ITV Studios yesterday, proved a gracious loser after saying he was 'lucky' to have got so far in the competition

He said: 'I do feel a little bit sorry for him because people are blaming him for being in there - he doesn't vote himself in there.

'But he is trying his best and it's his dream as much as it's mine or anyone else's.'
But while he empthasies with the Brazilian, he has tipped Rebecca Ferguson to win.

Paije said: 'I think she really deserves it and it would be amazing for her to win.

'She's so humble, she believes in herself 100 per cent, and she is such a lovely

person. You can't fault her for anything. As I say, she is so polite and she is so nice, there's nothing bad I can say about her.'

Singing for survival: Paije sang Sam Brown's Stop on Sunday night's episode
